Classic Stroop Task

The Stroop Task is a classic psychological experiment that examines cognitive load and selective attention.

Naming the ink color of a color word is slower and more error-prone when the color and word do not match — for example, the word BLUE written in red ink.

It measures selective attention, cognitive flexibility, and processing speed.

How to respond

A colored word will appear. Say the ink color — not what the word reads.

For example, if you see:

BLUE

→ say "red" (the ink color, not the word)

The task will begin immediately after. Complete as many trials as you can — there is no time limit per word.
